About Doctor Hong

Joseph S. Hong, D.O. is board certified in
Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic
Manipulative/Sports Medicine. He is a native of Southern California and was born and raised in
West Covina, CA, where he attended South Hills High School. He subsequently attended UCLA and
received a B.A. in History. Joseph briefly spent time as a substitute teacher and football coach before going to medical school at the founding school of osteopathy, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. After receiving his D.O., he completed a surgical internship at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and served honorably as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon. After completing his Navy obligation he returned to Kirksville to complete his residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Medicine(NMM/OMM) and then went on to fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at San Diego Sports Medicine and Family Health Center. He has been in private practice in San Diego County since 2005.
